Goonies Baby Ruth Pie-Never Say Die! Gooey cookie batter pie loaded with chopped up Baby Ruth bars. Chunk & Sloth never had it so good.

One of my favorite movies of all time, The Goonies, is now memorialized in a long awaited pie. Goonies Baby Ruth Pie, to be exact. As I live in the Pacific NW, I have easy access to The Goonies house. Astoria, Oregon is the place to be if you want to officially do the Truffle Shuffle.

If you have not seen this 1985 cult classic, Chunk fed Sloth a Baby Ruth candy bar to appease the gentle giant and become his friend. Oh childhood Chunk, we would have been great friends; I blamed things on my dog too.

Regardless if you’re a Goonies fan or not, Baby Ruth pie is fantabulous. Gooey buttery cookie batter with loads of chopped up Baby Ruth candy bars; which is just in time for Halloween candy. Surely your children won’t miss a few candy bars?

The Goonies Baby Ruth Pie, is exactly its namesake; full of Baby Ruth bars. I used my Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie Batter Pie and replaced the chocolate chips & nuts with 2 full cups of chopped Baby Ruth bars. The magic number is 21 mini square fun size bars or 5 regular size candy bars. Let me tell you, product measuring yield day was difficult not to snitch a few pieces.

Pie assembly is pretty simple. Beat the eggs for a couple of minutes, stir in the flour and sugars. Next, carefully stir in the cooled melted butter and finally, all those luscious chopped Baby Ruth Bars. Spread into an unbaked 9-inch pie shell and bake. DO NOT add lettering before baking; they could bake and sink into the abyss of the filling.

As far as the logo, I feel it deserves the extra work to cut out the lettering, yes, by hand. It’s The Goonies! Below is a PDF with The Goonies logo in 3 different sizes to fit your pie plate. As you may have noticed, not all 9-inch pie plates are the same; some measure inside the rim, others outside the rim. Yes, it is annoying as hell, sigh, but I got you covered. I used my small set of letter cookie cutters for “Never Say Die.” But by all means, design your pie the way you want it.

Bake the letters on a parchment lined baking sheet at 350 F. for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on size and thickness of dough. The smaller, the thinner, the faster they bake.

Serve up a slice warm a la mode; in my humble opinion it’s the best! Another take on this same recipe is my Maple Bacon Smackdown Pie and Pecan Pie – No Corn Syrup! They’re not identical, but serves as a basis to start with.

Lastly, if the owner of the The Goonies House ever reads this, I am only a 30 minute drive away. Thus, if you’re hankering for a slice of Baby Ruth Goonies Pie, just let me know. Maybe I could make him do the Truffle Shuffle for a slice, but would I? Nah, probably not, I just love sharing pie too much.
